Week 33

2-4-19

Redneck fun!

Well this week was a pretty solid one everyone! So let's jump right into it!

Monday was P-Day and we played softball with the coal mountain zone. Pretty fun stuff. After that we went to the Romero's for dinner. Good day! The Romero's complimented on how much better my Spanish has gotten so big plus.

Tuesday it was supposed to snow so we were told to cancel everything because snow in Georgia=BAD NEWS. But it didn't snow so bummer. So we went to the Chavez house and only Kebyn was home so we talked with him for a little while.

Wednesday we had to go to Roswell to talk to someone about my sleep stuff. So we're gonna see where that leads to. Afterwards we got some panda. Most of our day was driving there and back cause there's tons of traffic. Then we went to talk with Omar and his brothers. and had a good lesson with them on the Holy Ghost. Then we went to the young men's activity and helped them get ready for it.

Thursday we had to go to the doctors. A little while back Elder Cuarenta hurt his hamstring and woke up this morning and the whole thing was purple. So we got it checked that morning. Doc thinks it might be a little torn but we're going to a specialist next Wednesday. After that we went to the Chavez house then to the Romero's and we asked them about families that we could visit. Got some names from them. Good stuff.

Friday we started out with weekly planning. That took up some good time. But all good stuff. After that we went to the Flowery Branch Elders to help them out. After we visited the Chavez boys again and helped them sort some stuff out. Those boys have a hard life but oh man, they are so cool. Kebyn has gone through so much and wants to change his life. He is the most diligent scripture student I've met on the mission. He reads a ton. All of them are the coolest. Then we went and visited another family but they fell through. Bummer. Then we had to go home cause it was late.

Saturday was interesting. We spent the first 7 hours of the day with our ward mission leader visiting families he wanted us to talk to. None of them seemed super interested. But one kid (about 23) wanted to bash us. It started out pretty innocently with us teaching the restoration. Then he asked us to give him verses from the Bible as to why there needed to be a restoration of the church. So we gave 3 each. Then he talked about authority, which we explained. And then he went on out of nowhere about some other things I wont mention. It was bad. Bashes are bad. After the time with the ward mission leader we went to help flowery branch again. Then we visited a member and they asked us if we wanted to blow up some air bags. So we set them up down by the stream and launched stuff in the air! Pretty fun time, they're a super redneck family.

Sunday we were able to get both Omar and Nestor to church again! Soooo that means Omar can get baptized! How exciting is that?! We have a couple more things we need to talk about but he's so prepared! He participates in every class at church as well as in our lessons. Keep him in your prayers please! Also who watched the super bowl?? How was it? Also we had transfer calls. And here's the news.... I get to stay another 6 weeks in Gainesville!! Good stuff coming!

Love you all! This week I'd like to give out a spiritual challenge. With the come follow me program, I'd love to hear some favorite scriptures from the New Testament from you all! Since that's what it's based on this year I'd love to hear some thoughts!

Love you all and hope you have a great week!
