Week 26
12-17-18
Hey everyone! This week has been pretty spiffy! Hope it's been good for all of you as well.
Hey everyone! This week has been pretty spiffy! Hope it's been good for all of you as well.
Monday we finished up p-day early and went to teach a lesson with Leslie. That was pretty good! Right after we went to the Romeros just like always and had dinner with them. We then shared our favorite scriptures and family home evening lessons. That was a good time. The Romeros have a son serving in Utah and he's coming back in January.
Tuesday was uneventful for the most part. But we were able to go to the Chavez family to visit them. Omar wasn't there so I talked with Nestor the whole time. We read the children's BofM and then I made him and his little sister little paper swans, they were pretty excited about that. Nestor is inactive but wants to be able to have the priesthood so we are going to work with him and coming to church.
Wednesday I had another exchange! I went with Elder Paskett and it was good! We went to visit one of their investigators and he has a huge pig. A little bit into the lesson it bit my ankle and that sure surprised me, it was pretty funny though. But it left a good bruise. Then we visited a less active and I did an object lesson making a little swan and it ended up being good! Then some members took us to a late dinner and got us pizza. Good day!
Thursday we finished the exchange and right after went to visit some people we're teaching. We saw a guy named Robert and he's going to get his blood cleaned out for a little bit. Then we saw Leslie again and that was a rough lesson. We'll see what happens with that. Then we had an English class and lesson and it went pretty well. She read all of the testimonies in the book of Mormon in a couple days and that's pretty much unheard of so that was cool.
Friday we woke up really early to get to Spanish Conference on time. We were first there so nice. President and Sister Kuck had some awesome things that they shared. Hopefully when we implement them we will see more success. Then we went to Burford on the way to the branch Christmas party. At the party we saw some less actives and that was pretty exciting. But they still didn't come to church so bummer. But that's ok. Then we went back to Burford to get our car and then to Suwanee to get our phone then back to Gainesville and to bed. It was a late night.
Saturday we tried to do weekly planning but our markers weren't working so we went to Flowery Branch to borrow their markers and right as we got there we got a text saying that lunch was being prepared for us right then and to go there right then. When we got there, there was a random guy and we started talking to him about eternal families and now he's taking lessons! So that was pretty cool. Then we went to a members house and that was the weirdest experience ever. Just super super quiet and no Hispanic houses are quiet so it felt super weird. Then we went to see Omar and talked with them for a little bit. That was good. Then we went home.
Sunday was exciting because Omar came to church! We weren't able to meet with him all week, just members of his family and he came! That was an exciting time. Also President and Sister Kuck came to our ward and they spoke. Both of them combined did everything that President Ramirez told us not to do in our talks. It was pretty funny. I also understood pretty much everything! We were sitting behind a family with little girls and it was the funniest thing ever. Really enjoyed that. After church we had a dinner with the Garcia's then went to visit the Chavez family again, no one was home though. Then we drove back because it was getting late.
There's my week! I hope everyone is doing well! Hope to hear back from you all!
Love and miss everyone, have a great week
- Elder Tolman
