Week 5

Monday was good! Seemed super short but it was good. We had a zone p-day and that was fun. We played volleyball, basketball and whiffle ball. My team did pretty good. Towards the end of our p-day time our ride had to go get their oil changed so we had to go with them. That ended up taking almost two hours so by the time we got back to the apartment we had a little more than an hour to tract. No one answered but all is well.

Tuesday was pretty good, we had district meeting and got to drive around and meet some investigators we have, that was pretty good. That's it from Tuesday.
Wednesday was pretty fun. We went on exchanges with the APs and got a ride down to their area from a member, they bought us donuts. Super cool guy. Anyways, we got down there and had to wait at the mission office for a little bit because they had a lesson they had to do. We were there for a little bit trying to memorize mnemonics for the book of Mormon. So far I have the doctrine for every chapter up to 2 Nephi 25 memorized! Cool stuff. Anyways, we went tracting in a little area, I was with Elder Parrot, way cool guy. He goes home in a month. Anyways, we knocked on this guys porch and he yelled at us twice, "GET THE F*** OFF MY PORCH" then he told us he's call the cops and we told him that would be ok if he felt the need to. It was kinda funny, we laughed about it later. That's pretty much it from Wednesday.
Thursday was a way good day. We did 25 miles of biking and got 25 contacts from it! Totally worth it. We visited some people we had told we'd cone back to visit. And we met with he ward mission leader, he has three German shepherds and I was basically in heaven there for a bit. Anyways, he talked to us about some people who we should stop visiting and then some people who we should have a little bit more of a focus on. It was good to kind of know what was going on. Then we went to visit Enadina, a Hispanic lady that we told we'd bring a Spanish version of the Book of Mormon to. She's a super sweet lady, and she's loved what we've been teaching her so far. Today we invited her to come to church with us this Sunday and she said she'd try to make it. We explained what would be happening at the meeting and we were telling her about the sacrament, then she stopped us and told us that she had a dream where she was in a building with a lot of other people, and there were passing a tray with broken pieces of bread on it. Then she went on to describe the room she was in, and guess what, it was a chapel of an LDS church. How crazy is that? We told her thats what we do in our sacrament meetings and then we read the sacrament prayer to her and she loved it. The spirit was super strong in the room at that. It was incredible. After that we knocked some doors on our road and no one answered so we went to get ready for the night.
Friday was a solid day. In the morning we talked to this guy who has always heard about Mormons but never actually talked to some. And turns out, he believes in a lot of stuff we do! He's Catholic and everyone believes that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy ghost are all the same but he said that's stupid. Which is HUGE! We gave him a BofM and set up a return appointment so I'll keep you all updated on his progress. As for the rest of the day we met a Jehovah's witness lady named alma, she was super nice and gave us some water. We shared a message with her and she really liked it. We asked her about her beliefs and she said she was Jehovah's witness and we were like "woahhhhh wait a second" but we didn't actually say anything. Anyways, we built off of her belief in Jesus Christ being the center of our lives and ended up leaving her with a Book of Mormon! She gave us her number so that we can set a return appointment to, super cool! That was basically it for Friday.
Saturday was good too. The morning started out with us biking to the sisters apartment and switching them for the car so that was nice. Then we went and tracted the ghettos where a gun got pulled on us the last time we were there. We met some super nice people, one lady was super into it as well as another guy who does power washing for a living. So that was fun. After that we went to another investigators house and taught her and her mom a lesson. Her mom has read really far into the Book of Mormon and had tons of questions so we were there for a little bit helping her understand and helping her knowledge of the Book of Mormon grow, fun stuff. After that we went to an inactive members house and she gave us this delicious drink with lots of fruit in gliding bananas(for those of you that know me pretty well, the bananas didn't do anything to my throat so that was AMAZING cause now I can have them, literally out of no where!!!). We had a good lesson with her and are trying to help her think of some ways we can bring her son closer to Christ and come to church again for herself. Later on we came back and biked over to an investigators house named Uriel, as we were riding over there was a ton of lighting a little bit away. We knocked on his door and he didn't answer so we said, whelp, better get biking back. Right before we turned onto the highway it started raining and hailing! The hail was about the size of my palm, on top of the rain, wind and being next to the highway, it wasn't a good mix. That was by far the closest to getting hit I've cone so far on the mission haha! But it was good, we were soaked when we got back to the apartment even though it was only about a 5 minutes ride. Good stuff though.
