Week 19
So many Taxis!
So fun little thing from this week. The area I serve has a ton of Fiesta Cabs, it's a taxi service. Anyways, I was curious why there were so many here and here's what I found out. Because there are so many Hispanics in the area, and so many of them are illegal, they don't want to risk driving and getting pulled over leading to deportation. So, they all ride in taxis! Just thought that was kinda funny and fun. Anyways, here's my week.

Tuesday was just chilling at the apartment and shopping. Because p-day was switched from Monday to Tuesday because Elder Bednar came Monday. Then we had a lesson that fell through so we went tracting and had two lessons. Pretty good day.
Wednesday was mostly good to. We were tracting in trailer parks all day and then we went to a restaurant a member owns and they let us eat for free. Super nice. Anyways, after dinner we went to a lesson and it fell through. And then I started throwing up so we went back to the apartment for the rest of the night. Not too fun, but a good day.
Thursday we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders. It was lots of fun. I went with Elder Williams, he's dying this transfer. It was really good. We had a lesson fall through so we went tracting for a little bit. We were tracting in one area and he goes, "This isn't successful let's go somewhere else". So we prayed over an area and he asked me "Where should we go?" and I said this place (I don't remember what it was called) and we went there. The first person we talked to cussed us out for about a minute then walked his dog to his house. Nice man. Anyways, we saw someone they had talked to previously and they were Hispanic so I talked to him a little bit. Then he went inside. At the very end of the street there was a guy working on his car and we walked over to him and he asked us what we were up to. We shared a little bit of a message with him and asked if we could go inside with him to share a little bit more. He said yes and we went in to teach his wife as well.
In the middle of the lesson about the Restoration his wife stopped the lesson and asked if they could have one of the books we were talking about. We said "Of course!" and gave them one, continued the lesson and it was so cool! They said they loved everything we talked about, and how we invited them to find for themselves if it was true. It stinks they aren't in my area, but "I hope not because I've only been out four months and that's a zone leader area." Fun stuff. Then I went back with Elder Araujo and we had a lesson fall through so we went to visit an investigator. We got there and they weren't home so we taught a lesson to someone living with her. Now they are taking discussions. Cool day
Saturday was good. We did a lot of tracting with not a lot of success. So we went to the neighborhood that we had a dinner appointment in to tract for a little bit. We knocked on a former investigators house and they wanted to start taking discussions again after we shared a message about families. So cool the impact family discussions can have. It's awesome. Then we had the member dinner and they gave us $40!! What the heck? Anyways, that was cool and then we got food and went home to eat cause it was super late. Good day.
Sunday was good as well. We had a lesson with Carlos and Aritza again after church. And oh man it was so cool! We were talking about temples and then they said something about wishing their parents could be baptized and then we were able to talk about baptism for the dead! Woah! That never happens. The spirit was so strong in their home after talking with them. They've become very interested in our church recently. Please keep them in your prayers.
That's all this week! Also, sorry about the late email, p-day was shortened because of activities going on this week so it started at 1. Hope everyone is doing well!
