Week 18

This week's email is going to be a little bit different. I'll do really short things about each day this week but the biggest thing that happened was yesterday and I'd like to focus on that.
This week's email is going to be a little bit different. I'll do really short things about each day this week but the biggest thing that happened was yesterday and I'd like to focus on that.
Tuesday we went on exchanges and I went to the Flowery Branch Elders area. While we were there we got them one new investigator named Stone. Cool guy.
Wednesday the exchange ended and I made pork chops for everyone for lunch. Then we went to a returning members house for a lesson then had dinner with the Romeros then went home for bed.
Thursday was long. We went to a lesson which was good. There's this little group of kids in the neighborhood that always come follow us and I play with them so I like to tract there. Anyways, that lesson went really well and later on she told us she had a dream and saw God. Kind of crazy or super elect, I dunno. Good day though.
Friday was good. Weekly planning took extra long it felt like and then as we were about to go out the door a member called us and asked for help so we went to help them and by the time that was over we had to go to the Fiesta De Los Naciones. That was lots of fun. Tons of food from different Latino places. Lots of fun.
Saturday was good. We did tracting in a trailer park and got 2 new investigators. All our lessons fell through though.
Sunday was good as well. We had some good lessons and I actually understood a lot of what happened in church! In sacrament meeting the branch President called me up for my testimony. In Spanish. That was kind of scary. It was simple, but I was able to say what I knew to be true. It was good.
Monday, the highlight of this email (for me at least). Elder Bednar came to speak to our mission as well as the Georgia Atlanta Mission. And wow, that was an experience to remember. First, Sister and Elder Costa spoke to us. They both talked about how we are a preserved group of missionaries and we are supposed to be where we are when we are. They were both good. Then sister Bednar talked to us. One thing that I got from her talk is that the floods of the world are constantly rising. And these floods can do one of two things. Cause damage immediately, or it can cause mold to grow. Slowly But effectively. Continue to grow your testimony and faith in Christ. Have faith in the Lord, faith in yourself and faith in the future.
After Sis. Bednar Elder Bednar talked with us for almost 3 hours. Here are some things that really stood put to me.
After Sis. Bednar Elder Bednar talked with us for almost 3 hours. Here are some things that really stood put to me.
He talked about Nephi's large and small plates. He told us to write our own "small plates" to record our spiritual experiences, and how they effect us. Then a little bit later he said something along the lines of, if we stop doing the simple things then we will be spiritually killed. Sometimes we are like the Israelites. All we have to do is look at the serpent on the staff, but we think something else huge is supposed to help us and we don't take advantage of the small things that help us so much. He then said that if we are not growing spiritually, then we are losing. It's a constant battle to grow. And the only way to win is to continually grow.
Those were just a couple things that really stood out to me that I thought I'd share. I hope everyone has an amazing week. Love you All!
