Week 15

10-1-18

Wait, I'm Going SPANISH?!?

Well, Monday was pretty good after we left the bishops house. We went down with the AP's to their area for exchanges. That night I went tracting with elder Williams and we got a new investigator as well as a couple lessons. We went back to their apartment for dinner and they left to have a meeting with President Marsh.

Tuesday was pretty good as well. Studies like usual in the morning and then I went out with Elder Leslie to do tracting. We got two new investigators which was pretty exciting for them. One of them was named James and he was like "usually I would just shut the door in your faces but I liked your approach so I didn't" he asked if black people could be members of our church and we said of course. Super nice guy with good questions. He should be pretty solid I think. Too bad he isn't in our area!

Wednesday was rough. One of the companions wouldn't get up and do anything until 7pm and it wasn't even to go do missionary work. We got invited to a young men's soccer night so we went to that. It was a pretty rough day. Mostly just annoyed that the comp. wouldn't get up and go.

Thursday was pretty good. We did a whole lot of biking. We went tracting down a road we hadn't touched yet and it ended up going for a few miles. At the end we were about halfway to a members house and we biked the rest of the way there. On the way we stopped at a lot of really wealthy houses and all of them got super mad at us. But I got to pet a horse on the side of the road so it was all good. There were some huge properties. Pictures below. But once we got to the members neighborhood we did some tracting there and met this really cool guy named Steven. He had some good questions. He said he grew up super religious then one night after a bad game he smoked weed with his cousin and he had a revelation that religion was fake. So after that we kind of stopped trying. Funny stuff.

Friday was pretty good. We had our weekly planning then went to teach Shannon. She didn't answer so that was sad. After that we went back to the apartment and looked at the map to see where we could go. The only neighborhoods we could go to we have to bike on the interstate to get there so we decided to call everybody that has been taught in our area book and we found four people who were interested in us coming back. That was really exciting, and much more effective than tracting. After that the Smithers family took us to a Japanese steakhouse which was really good.

Saturday was a little bit disappointing. I got food poisoning so the day for me was spent inside while the companions went on splits with a member so we could still get work done. Considering circumstances, the day was pretty good.

Sunday was pretty good. President Marsh called and asked some questions about Spanish because a Hispanic elder told him I know a pretty good amount of Spanish and that he should put me into a Spanish speaking area.... So tonight was transfer calls and guess what, I'M GOING TO BE A SPANISH SPEAKING MISSIONARY!!!!!! I'm going to be going to the Gainesville area in the Sugar Hill zone! How crazy is that!! I'm going to be a Spanish missionary!! Wow, so weird.

Anyways, I'd love to hear more from everyone back home! Hopefully this will be a good next month and a half! Love you all!
